Sheila Muleady Girardi - Bio in brief, Part 1 of 2... Sheila was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in nearby Manhattan Beach. Her
father worked in the Aerospace Industry and her mother was a nurse busily raising 6 children. Sheila has musical talent coming from both
sides of her Irish family - her maternal grandfather was an opera singer and her mother was a classical pianist and sang. She started taking
piano lessons at the age of 5, following her two oldest siblings. As young as the third grade, her teachers realized that she had a gifted
voice and started putting her in choirs and school productions.
In junior high and high school, she participated in talent shows, musicals and was a member of the
Thespian Society (her earliest achievement was a honorable mention as a 7th grader in an Junior/Senior High Talent Show - she sang folk songs and her sister, Kate, played the
guitar). As a senior, Sheila got her first taste of straight drama and worked behind the scenes as stage manager and head costume mistress.
Sheila attended college on a music scholarship as a voice major. She also worked in costume construction and design for the theatre department.
She was a principal singer with the South Bay Light Opera for 15 years and has an extensive background in stage work. She has sung on country-western demos and has performed on several Christian
demos, including her own songs. She sang lead and played keyboards for 13 years with a contemporary Christian worship band.
While working on her solo career after her 2 sons went off to college, Sheila solicited Steve’s help as producer and then joined him as keyboardist in a new
band. This led to a new musical partnership as well as life long partners.
