Steve Girardi - Bio in brief, Part 1 of 2...
Steve was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Europe, where his father was stationed on
assignment for the U.S. Government.
As a kid in Athens, Greece, influenced by the British Invasion, Steve started playing the guitar (“my first guitar was purchased at the Athens flea market when my father offered
$10 and 2 cigars for a “guitar” that unfortunately proved to be beyond any hope of playability”) and formed the first of many bands over the years.
From Athens to Paris, France, where he graduated high school, Steve had numerous gigs, started singing, began writing his own songs, had his first
recording sessions and was briefly signed to a French record company.
“Probably my most vivid memory of my first gig in Paris was at the American Embassy. During the sound check, an embassy official ran into
the hall and asked us to stop playing. Unbeknownst to us, we were interrupting the Paris Peace Talks. Not wanting to cause an international
incident at the ripe old age of 16, we fled to the nearest French café.”

On returning to the USA, Steve immediately formed another band that led to gigs in D.C., Maryland,
and Virginia. This in turn led to recordings, and local radio airplay, all the while following in his father’s footsteps, employed by the U.S. government .
